The online event will take place over two Saturdays, July 31 and September 4, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. Brazil Time), and will be broadcasted live on the Zoom platform. The agenda of the event is for professionals and interested parties to understand notions of 3D animation and concept art with the school’s presentation to the Brazilian public.
Founded in 2010, Vancouver Animation School is a fully accredited online school offering advanced programs for the animation, visual effects and video game industries. The company offers vocational certificates, diplomas and university pathways in a variety of art and technology, media and design fields. In 2013, VANAS became the first 100% online institution to be fully accredited by the Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA), a regulatory body in British Columbia, Canada. The institution frequently offers free tutorials on its YouTube channel.
Vancouver Animation School
The webinar brings the methodology of the Vancouver Animation School, as well as animation concepts with the head of faculty Calvin Leduc, a former Disney animator. He has worked on several studio animations such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and Mulan (1998). Another prominent name is the illustrator Todd Marshall (Jurassic Park), who will teach conceptual art. Mario Pochat, CEO and founder of VANAS, who worked as an animator on Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006) and the game Dead Rising 3 (2013), also participates.
